Student Lighthouse Team

As a proud Leader in Me Lighthouse School, Central Elementary is committed to providing meaningful leadership opportunities for all students. One of the most impactful ways we do this is through our Student Lighthouse Team.

Each year, students have the opportunity to apply and interview for a leadership position on the Student Lighthouse Team. This team represents the voice of the student body and plays a vital role in shaping our school culture. Once selected, team members meet weekly with a staff advisor to collaborate, plan, and lead schoolwide initiatives.

Members of the Student Lighthouse Team are involved in:

  • Community service projects, such as Pennies for Patients and other outreach opportunities
  • School improvement efforts, bringing ideas from their peers to life
  • Planning and leading our annual Leadership Day, including:
    • Developing a theme
    • Writing and organizing the program
    • Emceeing and facilitating the entire event

Leadership Day is a school-wide celebration where we open our doors to community members to highlight the incredible leadership, learning, and growth that happen every day at Central Elementary.

Applications for the Student Lighthouse Team are accepted at the beginning of the school year from students in grades two through fifth grade. This is a unique opportunity for students to discover their strengths, find their voice, and make a lasting impact on their school and community.
